The national bus and coach travel networks of Mana/Naked Bus,
Newmans Coachlines, InterCity Coachlines and Great Sights - with its scenic coach and sightseeing services - operate over 160 daily services to over 500 towns, cities, skifields, national parks, major tourist destinations through out New Zealand, including combined coach and train travel on the TranzAlpine train - all year round.

With a range of fares from NZ$1.00, travelling on the services of Mana/Naked Bus and InterCity Coachlines is a great way to see New Zealand's diverse scenic beauty.

Travel is on modern eco-friendly, air conditioned coaches and buses featuring reclining seats with foot and head rests, with some scenic coach and sightseeing services having on board washroom/toilet facilities.

All regional and long distance bus and coach services do stop regularly for refreshment and comfort breaks.

Regional and long distance coach and bus operators like Mana/Naked Bus and InterCity Coachlines operate frequent daily services to regional destinations in both the North and South Islands, with some regional and long distance bus and coach services connecting with Cook Strait ferry services operating between Wellington in the North and Picton in the South Island.

InterCity Coachlines operates the Starlighter overnight coach services between Auckland, Hamilton, Rotorua, Taupo and Wellington connecting with Cook Strait ferry services operating between Wellington in the North Island and Picton in the South Island. The Starlighter overnight services features reclining seats with foot and head rests, individual reading lights and air conditioning controls, onboard toilet/washroom facilities and makes two refreshment/comfort stops on route.

InterCity Coachlines Auckland to Wellington daylight and Starlighter overnight coach services, Wellington to Palmerston North, Hastings and Napier and Christchurch to Kaikoura, Blenheim and Picton, Christchurch to Dunedin and Dunedin to Queenstown coach services, have GOLD seats -
soft leather reclining chairs with head and foot rests and individual USB charging ports, allowing you plenty of room to stretch your legs for comfortable and relaxing travel. The best thing is, they don't cost a lot more than the regular fare!

Alternatively you can travel on the Starlighter Sleeper service with bunk beds on board. Top bunks are single hammock-style beds, with two bunks side by side underneath, divided by a privacy screen. Each bunk comes with a small lightweight pillow and has a three-pin power point and a USB power point so you can keep your devices charged and enjoy free onboard wifi and a bottle of water and some cookies in case you need a midnight snack!

With a range of combined coach and train travel and fare options available, travel on the world famous TranzAlpine train between Christchurch and Greymouth connecting with coach services to and from Nelson, Murchison, Westport, Punakaki, Hokitika, Fox Glacier and Franz Josef Glacier.

Reservations can be made for combined coach and Cook Strait ferry travel from
Kaitaia, Kerikeri, Paihia, Whangarei, Auckland, Hamilton, Rotorua, Taupo, Palmerston North or Wellington to Picton, Blenheim or Nelson.

There is a range of half and full day scenic coach tours from Auckland, Bay of Islands, Rotorua, Waitomo Caves, Christchurch, Mount Cook, Queenstown and Milford Sound.

You can book accommodation that is within short walking distance to long distance coach terminals in Auckland, Paihia, Rotorua, Wellington, Nelson, Christchurch and Queenstown and near Franz Josef
and Fox Glacier coach stops and near the Christchurch railway station for the TranzAlpine train.

Bus and coach services to and from Auckland and Christchurch international airports are also available.
